Some records do not need to shout to say something big. That is what came through in this Inlet Wire conversation around Still Here.

What I liked about this episode is that it does not feel like a big dramatic comeback story. It feels more real than that. Jody talks about a stretch where she was not fully sure where music was going to fit in her life again, and that honesty gives the EP a lot of weight. Still Here is about staying present as an artist, but also just staying present as a person.

There is another layer to it too. She talks about being a woman in music, and how much the industry can be shaped by youth, speed, and constant output. This EP pushes back against that in a quiet but really clear way. It says you do not have to disappear just because time has passed. You can keep growing, keep making work, and keep getting better.

One of the strongest parts of the conversation is how she talks about aging. Not in a bitter way. More like a gentle reflection. That really stuck with me. So did the way she spoke about trusting her own ideas more, producing the EP herself, and making real time for the work instead of waiting around for inspiration to magically arrive.

That is probably the insight at the centre of this episode. Sometimes the next chapter does not begin with some huge turning point. Sometimes it starts with a couple of songs, a bit of clarity, and the decision to keep going.

If you want the full story behind Still Here, this episode is worth a listen.
