When I first came across Quadra Sound, it was not through a press release or a big announcement. It was a clip of the band covering one of my favourite Alice in Chains songs, and honestly, it sounded good enough that I wanted to dig a little deeper.

That first clip led me somewhere more interesting than I expected. Quadra Sound are a four-piece rock band from Vancouver Island, and they are putting real thought into what it means to build a band today. Not just writing songs. Not just playing shows. They are thinking about how people find a band, follow a band, and slowly get to know who that band is beyond the music.

In this episode of Inlet Wire, I talked with Nick Fascione about that side of Quadra Sound. He sees social media as more than a chore or a promotional checkbox. For him, it is a vehicle. A direct line to the people who might love this music, with no one standing in between.

What I liked about the conversation is that it never felt like a clean marketing answer. Nick kept coming back to the strange contradiction at the heart of making music. You make something because it means something to you, and the moment it exists, you want someone else to feel it too. That is where the online side, the business side, and the emotional side all start to overlap.

There is a playful streak in there too. The band have been making silly videos together since middle school, and one of them ended up travelling a lot further than anyone expected. I will let Nick tell that story.

There is also more history behind Quadra Sound than a few clips might suggest. Nick talked about the years of work behind the band, connecting with producer Brian Howes, developing the songs, and realizing that music gives you permission to start again. You can reset. You can rebrand. You can keep finding your way.

The part that stayed with me most was when Nick talked about a song rooted in Campbell River. It came from that small-town feeling: loving where you are from, but also wanting to leave, see more, and make something bigger happen. That feeling gave the episode its heart. After all the talk about social media, strategy, and building a world around the band, it came back to something very simple. A song, a hometown, and the people who helped shape it.

That is what I hope comes through in this episode. Quadra Sound are not just trying to get attention online. They are trying to build something that still points back to the music.
